Areola and 3D Nipple tattoos are a beautiful solution to create natural-looking body structures. Through micropigmentation, this cosmetic and paramedical tattoo creates a realistic image of an areola and a 3D nipple, whether you have undergone breast cancer reconstruction surgery, gender reassignment surgery or are looking to enhance the area. Creating a new areola entails careful consideration of areola positioning in relation to the breast shape and contour, picking the right colors to complement the patient's skin tone and realizing the illusion of nipple protrusion to add realism. We also provide color and shape correction from previous tattooing.

A complimentary consultation is recommended prior to the procedure for comprehensive assessment. A procedural appointment includes discussion of goals and assessment of procedure area followed by a mapping session to demonstrate projected tattoo area. Topical numbing cream is applied, followed by secondary numbing ointment to aide with comfort. The procedure generally takes 4 hours, with breaks as needed and requires a 6-8 week touchup.
This artistic technique of tattooing enables the cosmetic reconstruction of the areola nipple complex, referred to as 3D Areola Tattooing. This particular client had an optional nipple buildup by a plastic surgeon prior to tattooing.
We also provide previous tattoo color and shape correction. This micropigmentation technique requires the technician to have a complete understanding of skin undertones and prior pigments used to work towards a realistic goal for both client and artist.

Individuals who have undergone surgery that includes their areola/nipple must wait until scars are well healed. This is generally 1 year post breast reconstruction surgery (6 months post nipple reconstruction). Nipple reconstruction is not necessary to be a candidate for areola and three-dimensional nipple tattooing.
Color retention can be affected by radiotherapy, existing scar tissue, medications and other existing medical issues. Additional sessions may be necessary to achieve desired results.
We only use pigments that are formulated from the FDA, FD&C, and D&C colorant listings. They are sterilized using the gamma sterilization process (the highest form of pigment sterilization).
