Dr. Paul Nystrom
There is a need for officers and police executives to have up-to-date information on contemporary medical issues that are specific to law enforcement agencies. Unfortunately, we live in a very politically polarized time. An emergency physician that works closely with several police agencies in Minnesota recently gave his officers a well-researched lecture on contemporary prehospital issues. Shortly thereafter, he was given an ultimatum: You can be a cop or work in your hospital, but you can't do both. He is still a peace officer, and is here to give you undivided support.
As your Doctor, I have a responsibility like no other does every day. Taking an oath to ethically care for the residents of our community’s like our own family and extend that mentality to your agency everyday. I take pride in doing that with integrity and great responsibility.
